1. Dr R S Swathi (Assistant Professor)

 

R. S. Swathi was born in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. She did her schooling at

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Banavasi, Kurnool. She studied an integrated

B. Sc. Ed (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) (1999-2003) course at Regional

Institute of Education, Mysore, Karnataka, India. Subsequently, she obtained

an M. Sc. in Chemistry (2003-2005) from Indian Institute of Technology,

Guwahati, Assam, India. She did her Ph. D (2005-2010) at the Department

of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore,

India under the supervision of Prof. K. L. Sebastian. Since September 2010,

she has been working as an Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Science

Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.

 

Awards and Recognitions:

 

16. Distinguished Lectureship Award of the Japanese Chemical Society for work on Theoretical Chemistry, awarded during the Annual Meeting of the Japanese Chemical Society in March 2015.

15. Associate of the Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore for the duration 2014-2017.

14. Dr. J. C. Ghosh medal for the best PhD thesis in Physical Chemistry for the year 2010-2011.

13. Participated at the 59th meeting of Nobel Laureates at Lindau, Germany as a representative of Siemens Information Systems  

      Limited (I was one among the two representatives selected from India).

12. Bristol-Myers-Squibb Fellowship at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore for the period 2008-2010.

11. Best Poster Presentation Award at the Discussion meeting on Theoretical Chemistry (TCS-2009) for the poster " Fluorescence

      resonance energy transfer-Does the rate always have a (distance)-6 dependence? " held at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore

10. A. R. VASUDEVAMURTHY-S. SOUNDARARAJAN Prize for the best student seminar at the Department of Inorganic and Physical

      Chemistry, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

9. Best Poster Presentation Award at the First Asian Spectroscopy Conference (ASC-2007) for the poster "Rate of excitation energy

    transfer from a dye molecule to a metal nanoparticle” held at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

8. A. R. VASUDEVAMURTHY-S. SOUNDARARAJAN Prize for the best performance in course work at the Department of Inorganic and

    Physical Chemistry, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

7. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE'05) with an All India Rank of 29 (Percentile score: 99.14).

6. Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Lectureship awarded by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in 2004.
